The 1 day course will be a real eye opener into the world of bees and beekeeping.
Included in the price, is a tasty lunch , materials and use of protective equipment.
These taster days are ideal for anyone who has an interest in bees and starting beekeeping but is unsure about committing to a full course. They also make an unusual gift experience!
The session begins with a morning introduction into the fascinating world of bees and beekeeping. In the afternoon you will attend a hands-on apiary session and get up close and personal with our bees, under the guidance of one of our experienced beekeepers.
We will cover the different types of bee, types of beehive, personal safety, how to set up an apiary, how to handle bees, honeybee health, the different types of honey, and how to deal with the honey harvest.
We will provide you with bee suits and gloves for the afternoon session with the bees.
Please bring your own wellies
